Elena Varosi, BSW, RSW
Elena is a registered social worker who is open to working with youth and adults. She works from a trauma informed, anti- oppressive lens and has a compassionate and collaborative approach to therapy. She strives to provide a space for individuals to grow, heal and work towards their goals on their way towards building a life in which they are thriving.
Elena has experience working with first responders, military members, and health care professionals. She has a background in supporting individuals experiencing trauma, PTSD, occupational stress injury, grief and traumatic bereavement, alcohol use, substance use, behavioural addictions, as well as anxiety and depression. She works from a harm reduction philosophy and has previously provided social work services in community settings, hospitals, and inpatient programs.
Elena completed her undergraduate degree in social work at the University of Windsor and a graduate certificate in addictions and mental health from Humber College. Elena’s passion for social work has currently led her to return to school to complete her Master of Social Work at the University of Waterloo.
Elena uses an integrative approach including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), relapse prevention and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT).
Elena enjoys spending her time exploring new places, both big cities and nature adventures. When she is not listening to audiobooks you can find her enjoying time with family and friends.
