Joelle Associate Therapist

Joelle is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) who has experience and is open to working with children, adolescents, and adults. She uses a gentle and compassionate approach for individuals to find meaning in challenges and foster their strengths. Recognizing that every person lives within their own unique contexts, she works collaboratively with you to tailor her approach to you. Joelle is trained in a variety of modalities including CBT, DBT, SFT, and narrative therapy and uses an integrative approach to best fit your needs.

Joelle developed her passion as a helper early in life. For most of her childhood, Joelle’s home was open to children going through the child welfare system. From this experience, Joelle went to a achieve a Bachelor of Arts & Science in combination with Psychology at McMaster University in 2016. Joelle has since completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in 2020.

Since graduating, although initially providing in-home services for foster families, Joelle has since focused her career to providing services on reserve to Indigenous people. She is passionate about helping at risk priority populations with complex needs. Her passion has inspired her to continue her education and she is currently completing a Doctor of Psychotherapy and Counselling through Yorkville University.

Outside of her professional work, Joelle is passionate about all things related to wool. Joelle spins yarn, needle felts, and crochets.
